Citizen's Police Academy What is it? The Citizen's Police Academy is a program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the Morris Police Department. It consists of a series of 10 classes which are held in the evening, once a week for a period of three hours. There is no cost to enroll. The class provides an in-depth view into various areas of law enforcement. It is an educational and informative program that allows citizens the opportunity to learn about the issues that affect law enforcement in the City of Morris. Goals This program has a variety of goals. The main goal is to help members of the community understand what happens at the Morris Police Department and how it affects their community. Also, the graduates of the academy will get to know real men and women who protect their community and understand that they are real people behind their badges. What can you learn?
Who can attend? Anyone who is at least 18 years of age and is affiliated with the City of Morris by occupation, residency or organization may attend. Participants are subject to a background check.
