Bicycle Unit

The Morris Police Department Bicycle Patrol consists of officers. Each officer is assigned their own bicycle. These bicycles were purchased through community donations. The officers ride Trek Police Mountain Bikes.

Members of the bike patrol are certified through the Illinois Police Mountain Bike Association. Each officer completed a 30 hour class consisting of emergency maneuvers, police bike tactics, bike pursuit and general bicycle operations.

These bicycles are used throughout the community in events such as the Grundy County Corn Festival, on patrol, and other community events.

Members of the Bicycle patrol are Deputy Chief Harvey VanCleave, Detective Sergeant Scott Henderson, Patrolman Steve Huettemann, Patrolman Curt Kneller, Patrolman Ben Wiechen, Patrolman Paul Cheskie, and Officer Doris Noll.

Special Thanks to the area businesses and Individuals that have donated to the purchase of our police Bicycles and Equipment.
